South Coast Skindivers is a non profit sporting club that hosts a number of major spearfishing events each year. The club is run by volunteers and as many people will realise, it takes a lot of time, effort and organisation to plan and implement competitions for 50, 60 or 100+ competitors. We therefor seek interested businesses or individuals to support these events by offering prizes, sponsoring a trophy or perhaps a cash donation to go towards the expenses of running these competitions.

Event History

Way back in 1968 spearfishing clubs from NSW, Victoria and ACT came together for the very first 3 Way State Spearfishing Titles. On an icy morning at Quarantine Bay, Eden NSW,competitors squeezed into their wetsuits for the inaugural event, not realizingthey were taking part in spearfishing history. Over the years weigh-ins have
been held under car headlights as a testament to the commitment to this event.

Now in 2012, fortunately we have laptops and spreadsheets and the use of a hall, but the neoprene is still cold to  squeeze into. This is a legendary competition that provides the best of cool water fishing, rugged coastline and abundant species. The who's who of east coast spearfishing attend this event because of the conditions, the camaraderie and the competitive field.

Some of the legends of Eden include; Jack Lavender; Ian Puckeridge; Paul Roso; Les Bell; Lou Hajdu; Wade Koolis; B. McKenna; Steve Wayne; Mark Searle; Alan Eriksson; Andy Ruddock; Rob Torelli; Gunther Pfrengle; Robbie Montcalm; Paul Jones

Held at Eden on the NSW South Coast, this event brings a huge number of visitors to the area as competitors bring families, boat crews and friends along for a great weekend. All of who utilise local businesses especially food outlets, fuel suppliers, accommodation and general business.

In order to provide the extensive prize pool for this competition, we need the support of sponsors.

Sponsors can be any business, individual or family, who would like to donate
items of dive gear or sports clothing, contribute vouchers or money towards
prizes including trophies.

This event allows a great opportunity for spearfishing / outdoors related business owners to access their core market for minimal expense and hassle. All prizes donated are displayed at the presentation. Sponsors may request their donation be allocated to a specific category, otherwise all prizes are a random drawer at the presentation. This allows any competitor in the field the chance to take out the big value prizes.

In return for their support all sponsors will :

-be acknowledged on the South Coast Skindivers Club website for 12 months

-have an opportunity to provide promotional material to competitors

-have your business acknowledged at the event and presentation

-receive a certificate of thanks

Sponsors donating in excess of $350 will, in addition to the above:
